Gasses can sometimes be difficult to contain (volatile), they can be dangerous (inflammable) or they can even change state depending on pressure or temperature. This is why optimal seal performance is highly prized. Gasses such as carbon dioxide, helium, oxygen, ozone or nitrogen, for example, are used for such diverse applications as magnetic resonance, leak detection, welding, paper bleaching, neutralization, effluent treatment or thermal regulation.

Possible solutions materials and seat design. The new generation of carbon-filled seats give minimal porosity and increased mechanical resistance over time (increased number of cycles). They also provide excellent pressure-resistance properties. The progressive range profile offers an improved seal; reduced friction coefficients provide optimum actuation and reduce wear.

Packing gland design

The packing gland uses V-rings, giving an improved external seal. The Belleville washers and the tab washer use automatic compensation to reduce packing gland maintenance.

Decompressing the chamber

A vent hole in the ball (upstream) removes any risk of an excess pressure build-up in the body.
