We carry a variety of thermostatic steam traps by Spence — one of the industry’s leading innovators. These products are suited for a range of different applications. They have several features that set them apart:

  • Durability: These clean steam products all have bodies and components made from 316L stainless steel and protected by interior and exterior finishes.
  • Excellent energy savings: The thermostatic action and positive shut-off feature ensure you’ll have no loss of steam during regular process operations.
  • Responsive: All of these products have a fast-acting thermostatic action and outstanding air handling capability that quickly eliminates non-condensibles.
  • Easy to maintain: The 2-piece steam traps have a bolted cover that’s easy to remove, allowing you to replace inline components for added steam trap longevity.
  • These traps will self-drain when properly installed, making them freezeproof in cold temperatures. They also have optional features you can include, like mechanical finishing, electropolishing and the choice to add an integrated filter to keep the valve seat free of dirt and scale. Each model has additional features, advantages and benefits to offer. Talk to our team about which will work best for you.

CDS Thermostatic Steam Traps

CDS thermostatic steam traps are ASME-BPE certified products. They install inline vertically to capture steam. Once trapped, the steam is pressurized and cooled, separating air and other non-condensibles from condensate material. Collected condensate automatically discharges to enable continuous operation. Low, medium and high-capacity models are available.

Key specifications and capabilities include:

  • 100 PSIG maximum operating pressures.
  • 170°C maximum operating temperatures.
  • A three-year product warranty.
  • Options to fit 1/2-inch to ¾-inch or 1-inch to 1.5-inch 2-inch connections.
CDH Thermostatic Steam Traps

Spence CDH-series sanitary steam traps share many similar functions and features to the CDS line. This includes the same maximum capabilities for operating temperature and pressure, making them suited for many of the same applications.

With this line, you can choose from models with different horizontal and vertical inlet and outlet placement. Other primary differences for the CDH line include:

  • 100 PSIG maximum operating pressures.
  • 170°C maximum operating temperatures.
  • Horizontal installation or multi-directional Horizontal/Vertical installation.
  • A four-year product warranty.
  • 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch clamp connections.
DS-100 Thermostatic Steam Traps

DS100 sanitary steam traps are durable and maintenance-free thanks to single-piece, enclosed construction. These products are also ASME-BPE certified. They have a universal hygienic clamp that fits 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch piping. You can select whether you would like yours equipped with a tube end or clamp ends.

Maximum allowable operating conditions include:

  • Pressures up to 150 PSIG.
  • Temperatures up to 186°C.
  • A two-year product warranty.
  • 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch tri clamp connection or ½-inch, ¾-inch and 1-inch tube connection.
